Now that you've got all your content ready, your website address purchased, and your email set up, it's time to launch your new site. You are now ready for the world to see your website!
There are only a few steps that you need to do to make your website live. Below are your instructions for making your website live with 1and1.
First Things First:
The first step is to find your new site's "IP Address". It's located in your Greenhouse Dashboard under Settings > Search Engine Settings. You'll see it on the right side under "Your I.P. Address". Copy this number and save it for the next steps.
Changing Your "A" Record
If you registered your domain name through 1and1.com, here are the steps you will take to make your website live:
1. Go to the Control Panel at 1and1.com. Sign in with your 1&1 account info.
2. After signing in to your account, you will be directed to a page that displays various icons. You will click on the icon that says "Domains" and has a house next to it.

3. The next page will have a table in the middle. You will notice your domain name(s) listed here. Click the check box next to the domain that you want to take live.

4. Once you have checked the box you will go directly above the domain name(s) and click on the arrow next to the button that says "DNS". This will open a drop down menu. Click on the link "Edit DNS Settings".

5. The next page will have a section at the bottom called "Advanced DNS Settings". Click the radio button for "Other IP Address".
If the DNS settings page says in a yellow box, "Full functionality can be gauranteed if you choose DNS settings other than the original 1&1 settings, such as e-mail and web space. Click on Reset to return to 1&1 and default settings." HOWEVER, this will change all the other settings for your domain, which means that your email (MX) records will need to be set up again. You may want to stop and read our help article about name servers.
6. This will open up four text boxes directly below. In here you will insert your Clover site's IP address (the one that you wrote down from the beginning of this help article). Make sure that you do not put periods at the end of each set of numbers.
*Note: Do not put in the IP address listed below, this is just an example.

7. Once you have your IP address inserted, you will go directly below and click "OK". (You do not need to change the Mail Server (MX Record). Next you will click on "Go To Overview".
8. You're done! Your site should be live within a couple hours, although it can take up to 24 hours for everything to start showing up properly. Go celebrate!
